Nowadays we see a never-ceasing search for ever cheaper transport services from the players of the logistics world. Most of the time this is merely the reflection of thinking in the wrong way, i.e. smaller costs will equal more profit, but only every once in a while analyzing all requirements that must be fulfilled by the transportation service of our choosing.
In fact, if we delve deeper into a cheaper option, we come to the conclusion that in the vast majority of cases, low cost international transportation will end up being quite expensive, after having added all other costs, which are not known at the time of opting for the service:
- Time. Time is money and low cost service in general almost always takes longer than premium service, as it has two associated costs:
- Value of the employee, translated into costs for the company, for the time he or she spends on taking care of the service,
- Added value, which the employee does not manage to create due to the time he or she spent on providing the service, whilst being occupied with the coordination and control of the transport flow;
- Supply chain. Expense for the company, as a result of expected failures that might occur with a low cost service, such as:
- Tangible costs, i.e. well-known costs that can be estimated precisely. E.g. fines and penalties resulting from delays in delivery time or incorporation.
- Intangible costs, i.e. expenses / losses we can not measure accurately, and which are normally just estimated. E.g. losing the trust of a customer.

- Regular departures,
- Precisely-defined transit time,
- Level of bureaucracy,
- Quality in the provided services.
- Guaranteed capacity,
- Simplification of shipping routes,
- Better solutions when it comes to loading cargo,
- Optimization of delivery time.
